Robert L. Savage has served as president and CEO of Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers since April 2001. Saint Francis is a fully accredited, not-for-profit Catholic hospital providing inpatient and outpatient centers of excellence in trauma, orthopedics, oncology, neuro sciences, surgery, and behavioral health.  It encompasses the 333-bed acute care facility in Poughkeepsie, New York, and sixteen schools, clinics, and services located throughout Dutchess County.  Saint Francis is developing a cardiology center of excellence and is expanding its cancer program through the development of the Eileen Hickey Cancer Center.

Savage has 30 years of hospital management experience.  He has served in a range of health care and community capacities including board chair and executive committee member of the Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association, board chair and board member of the Central Atlantic Region of the VHA, board member of Hospice, Inc., the Economic Development Corporation, and chair of the American Heart Association of Dutchess-Ulster Counties.   

He earned a master’s degree with honors from Washington University in St. Louis.
